door: Ha Vomaandag 20 april 2009 22:04I've been looking at the different ideas and I've voted for a few of them. But practically all of them have a relatively small impact, possibly generating ten thousands or even hundreds of thousands of Euros.
Kiva has been able to raise over 68 MLN in about 27 months with about 478.000 lenders.
I'm quite sure if we make the same concept available for all people in the Netherlands - to start with - we can eventually get 100.000 people to join the charity community. And if all of them would just donate between 10-20Euro's per year, we would be able to raise between 10-20 MLN Euro's per year additionally for charity organizations.
I really think it's feasible as I've just heard that:
- 6 MLN people are in Hyves
- 1 MLN Dutch people are in Facebook
So why not vote for my idea? It will generate a much wider and more substantial impact for the charity community.
So please, to all members of Voordewereldvanmorgen, please consider voting for my idea. With 10-20 MLN Euro per year, we could probably fund ALL the projects that have been submitted on this community.

My idea is to replicate the success of www.kiva.org Kiva is a charity organization that is present in social media like Facebook and Linkedin. With the power of online social networks they now have more funding than they have projects.
My idea is to replicate this in a generic portal platform that can easily be used to facilitate hundreds and eventually thousands of charity organizations. And the idea is real as I'm already in talks with http://www.treesfortravel.nl, an organization that helps people and companies to compensate their CO2 footprint.
By helping people who already help other people, those projects that really help the world can be facilitated much faster. Join me in this quest to really help others to help other people.

Current default rate (all partners): 1.83%
Average loan size (This is the average amount loaned to an individual Kiva Entrepreneur. Some loans - group loans - are divided between a group of borrowers.): $422.05
Average total amount loaned per Kiva Lender (includes reloaned funds): $143.85
Average number of loans per Kiva Lender: 4.00
